Agreement Reached
Lazio have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal for the transfer of Nuno Tavares, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. The Serie A club now faces the task of convincing Tavares to accept the move.
Transfer Details
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla provides additional details, stating that Lazio will initially acquire Tavares on a one-year loan with an obligation to purchase him for €7 million. Arsenal initially demanded €10 million for the sale, but after several days of negotiations, a €3 million discount was agreed upon.
Guendouzi’s Influence
The transfer is reportedly being facilitated by Mattéo Guendouzi, a former Arsenal player now at Lazio. Guendouzi, who has a good relationship with Tavares, has been persuading him to join the Italian side.
Official Confirmation
Lazio director Angelo Mariano Fabiani confirmed that the negotiations are progressing positively. Speaking to CalcioMercato.it, Fabiani said, “We are very interested, there is correspondence between the two clubs on the agreement, which we actually found yesterday.”
With the clubs in agreement, the final hurdle remains securing Nuno Tavares’ acceptance of the move to Lazio.
