Bayern President Open to De Ligt Stay; Transfer Talk Continues

Background: Bayern Munich’s Transfer Situation

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß has made it clear that the club has no issues with Matthijs de Ligt staying amid ongoing transfer discussions with Manchester United. De Ligt, valued at £42 million, has not yet agreed to a transfer, although personal terms with United have been settled. The recent £58.9 million acquisition of 18-year-old Leny Yoro means Manchester United is assessing potential outgoings before making further signings.

Bayern’s Stance on New Signings

Speaking at a local event, Hoeneß emphasized that no new players will join Bayern Munich unless two or three current players leave first. He highlighted that the club is not in a position to waste money, with Max Eberl and Christoph Freund aware that significant departures are necessary before any new arrivals.

Defender Transfers and Club Reactions

With speculation surrounding De Ligt, as well as defenders Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae, Hoeneß stated that it is possible a defender may leave. He indicated that while he would not have a problem with De Ligt staying, he personally would not sell Upamecano. The potential move of De Ligt has already caused unrest among Bayern fans, leading to a petition with over 70,000 signatures against the transfer.
