For the August Premier League player of the month award, Cole Palmer has been included in the eight-man shortlist.
The following players are also on the shortlist for August’s Premier League Player of the Month award: Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford, Madou Onana of Aston Villa, Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Brighton’s Danny Welbeck, David Raya, and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, according to an announcement by Chelsea Football Club.
Palmer’s outstanding performances in west London also earned him a spot on the prestigious Ballon d’Or award shortlist.
Under new head coach Enzo Maresca, the 22-year-old has started all three of our Premier League games and has one goal and four assists in the league. Palmer’s precise assist for Nicolas Jackson’s first goal in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace earned Chelsea a point, but his contribution to our 6-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers stood out the most, the post added.
The England international kicked off the season with a beautiful lob over Jose Sa. In the second half, he switched roles and created all three of his hat-trick goals, with Noni Madueke being the beneficiary.
Cole Palmer was acquired by the Blues from Premier League rival Manchester City last year. Since joining Chelsea, Palmer has tallied the most assists in the top five leagues in Europe, underscoring his significance as an inventive playmaker at Stamford Bridge. In addition, the left-footed attacker has scored 26 goals in 50 games played in all competitions.
Manchester City Erling Haaland is the top favorite to win the August Premier League player of the month award. In three league games in August, the star striker netted seven goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks against West Ham and Ipswich Town. He also scored in the 2-0 win at Chelsea.
