Chelsea commenced their UEFA Conference League campaign with a convincing 4-2 victory over KAA Gent at Stamford Bridge.
Renato Veiga and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored their maiden goals for the Blues, while Pedro Neto and Christopher Nkunku also found the net.
Chelsea dominated from the outset, with Veiga heading home after 12 minutes. Neto’s sublime volley doubled the advantage two minutes into the second half.
Gent pulled one back through Tsuyoshi Watanabe, but Nkunku restored Chelsea’s two-goal cushion. Dewsbury-Hall sealed the win with Chelsea’s fourth goal, before Omri Gandelman’s stoppage-time consolation.
Chelsea’s victory extends their winning streak to five games across all competitions. The performance against Gent showcased the team’s strength in depth, with Dewsbury-Hall, Neto, Joao Felix, and Mykhailo Mudryk impressing.
Dewsbury-Hall delivered an outstanding performance, completing 62 of 68 passes and winning six of eight duels. He capped off his display with his first Chelsea goal since joining from Leicester City.
Chelsea’s next fixtures include trips to Anfield against Liverpool, a game against Newcastle United, and a Old Trafford to play against Manchester United, where their supporting cast will aim to play a pivotal role.
