Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose contract expires next summer.
Adeyemi’s impressive start to the season, including a hat-trick against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League, has caught Liverpool’s attention.
The Reds are willing to pay €50m (£42m) to land Adeyemi, who could fill the void left by Salah’s potential departure.
“Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing a Champions League finalist to potentially replace Mo Salah,” reads the report. “Salah’s contract is due to expire next summer, and he hinted last month that this is likely to be his final season at Anfield. The Reds could be set to lose their talisman in the coming months, and will need to find a suitable successor if Salah does opt to move on.”
“According to Bild, Liverpool are now targeting Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi following his flying start to the season. The report states that Liverpool would be willing to pay €50m (£42m) to land Adeyemi,” it claimed.
In another development, Real Madrid have made contact with Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires next summer.
The Spanish giants have expressed interest in the full-back, with Alexander-Arnold yet to respond to Liverpool’s latest contract extension offer.
The Liverpool Echo reports: “Relevo have claimed that after initial interest in the Liverpool academy graduate, the record Champions League winners have taken their admiration further. They add that contact has been made to Alexander-Arnold’s representatives several times to ascertain the chances of landing the defender.”
It added: “Further to the report from the Spanish outlet, they claim that Alexander Arnold has not responded to any of the proposals from Anfield chiefs, including the latest offer to extend which came recently.”
