Premier League Clubs Furious with Man City Court Case Decision

Top-flight English clubs are fuming after receiving an email from Manchester City regarding their ongoing legal dispute with the Premier League.

The email, sent by City’s general counsel Simon Cliff, alleged that the Premier League misled clubs in its summary of the tribunal verdict concerning Associated Party Transactions (APT) rules.

According to Sky Sports, Cliff claimed the league’s statement misrepresented key aspects of the tribunal’s findings.

The development has sparked a “civil war” within the Premier League, with almost all top-flight clubs reportedly “stunned” and “annoyed” by City’s actions.

Even clubs that previously supported City, such as Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Everton, are now said to be angered by the email.

The 20 Premier League clubs will convene for an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss amendments to the APT rules before submitting them to the league’s financial and legal advisory groups for a final vote.

The escalating tensions threaten to deepen divisions within the Premier League.
