Barcelona’s promising start to the season is set to receive a significant lift with the anticipated returns of midfield dynamos Gavi and Fermin Lopez after the international break.
Despite initial skepticism surrounding the team’s adaptability to new coach Hansi Flick’s philosophy, Barcelona has impressively integrated several academy and youth products, showcasing exciting football.
According to SPORT, Gavi and Fermin Lopez are poised to rejoin the squad for the Sevilla clash, bolstering Flick’s high-intensity team. Gavi’s comeback, nearly a year after suffering a severe injury, is particularly eagerly awaited.
Dani Olmo is also expected to rejoin the team after the international break, having continued training with Flick and teammates during the break. Frenkie de Jong’s gradual return to full fitness further reinforces Barcelona’s midfield.
While Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and Ferran Torres remain sidelined, most are expected to return throughout the season.
Flick’s squad depth will greatly benefit from these returns, crucial for navigating the demanding football calendar.
