England’s new manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to recruit Chelsea’s goalkeeper coach Henrique Hilario and performance analyst James Melbourne to his Three Lions backroom staff.
Following Tuchel’s appointment, which commences in January 2025, reports suggest the German is seeking to reunite with former colleagues from his Chelsea stint.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has addressed the speculation, stating, “One of the analysts has been approached. We’re open-minded about letting people take chances. Regarding Hilario, I’ve heard rumours, but there’s been no official approach.”
Tuchel, who won numerous trophies at club level, is building his England team, including assistant Anthony Barry, at St George’s Park.
Hilario, a former Chelsea player signed by Jose Mourinho, previously worked under Tuchel and spent eight years at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea return to Premier League action on Sunday, visiting table-topping Liverpool at Anfield, currently sitting fourth.
