Lionel Messi has congratulated former club Barcelona on their resounding 4-0 triumph over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Barcelona, under Hansi Flick’s guidance, delivered a statement performance, with Robert Lewandowski scoring twice and Lamine Yamal and Raphinha adding goals. This victory marked Real Madrid’s first La Liga loss in 43 matches.
Messi, who departed Barcelona in 2021 due to financial constraints, turned down a potential return in 2023, opting for Inter Miami instead. Despite this, he remains a devoted supporter.
On Barcelona’s Instagram post celebrating the win, Messi commented: “What a beautiful victory!!”
With renovations underway at Camp Nou, Barcelona may host the 2025 La Finalissima between Spain and Argentina. Reports suggest the club plans to honour Messi’s achievements during the event.
