Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is reportedly considering a departure from Stamford Bridge, with European giants Barcelona and Inter Milan emerging as potential suitors.
The 23-year-old Argentine, who became the world’s most expensive midfielder in a £107m deal, has struggled to cement his place in the starting lineup since Enzo Maresca took charge. Fernandez has been relegated to a backseat role, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia preferred in central midfield.
Fernandez’s frustration may prompt an early exit, and according to The Sun, Barcelona and Inter are monitoring his situation. Chelsea, however, are keen to recoup a significant portion of their investment.
Despite appearing in most of Chelsea’s Premier League matches this season, Fernandez’s starting berths have dwindled, with recent bench roles against Newcastle, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
As the World Cup winner fights to regain his spot, speculation surrounding his future intensifies. With Barcelona and Inter boasting significant financial muscle, a high-profile transfer could be on the horizon.
Fernandez’s Chelsea future hangs in the balance, and only time will tell if he can revive his fortunes under Maresca or seek pastures new.
