Bayern Munich have commenced their search for a long-term replacement for Harry Kane, despite the English striker’s contract running until 2027.
Kane’s arrival at the Allianz Arena was hailed as a transformative signing, bringing goal-scoring prowess and leadership to the team. However, Bayern’s management, led by sports director Max Eberl, are analysing potential future options in the striker market.
A key factor influencing this search is the stalling development of young forward Mathys Tel. The 19-year-old, signed from Rennes in 2022, has struggled to break into Bayern’s starting lineup under manager Vincent Kompany.
Tel faces stiff competition from established attackers Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise, Kingsley Coman, and Leroy Sane. Kane’s presence has further limited Tel’s opportunities, prompting considerations of a loan deal in the winter transfer window.
Bundesliga side Stuttgart have expressed interest in securing Tel on a temporary basis, which could provide the young forward with crucial game time to rebuild his confidence and showcase his potential.
Bayern’s proactive approach ensures they remain competitive, balancing short-term ambitions with long-term development. As the club refine their forward lineup, it remains to be seen whether Kane will continue to excel or if a new heir emerges.
