Amorim Says Youth Isn’t Excuse for Mainoo and Others

Amorim Say Youth Isn’t Excuse for Mainoo & Co

Ruben Amorim, Manchester United’s new manager, has issued a rallying cry to his youthful squad, emphasizing the importance of playing with freedom and confidence.

The 39-year-old Portuguese tactician, who took the reins on November 11, is eager to instill a fearless mentality in his team, particularly among the young players.

“I don’t want to say that we need time because we are a young team,” Amorim stressed in an interview with club media. “They are prepared. They are prepared to cope with the demands of playing for Manchester United.”

Amorim’s approach echoes the club’s rich history of nurturing young talent, exemplified by legendary managers like Sir Matt Busby and Alf Albut. The likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund embody the exciting potential within United’s ranks.

Despite their inexperience, Amorim refuses to let age define his players. Instead, he urges them to embrace the responsibility of wearing the iconic red shirt.

“We have to start since day one without fear, without thinking that they are not used to playing like this,” Amorim emphasized. “They will start on the first day with our idea, no matter what. That’s the goal.”

As the youngest United manager since Wilf McGuinness in 1969, Amorim brings a bold and ambitious approach to the role. He has already begun working on his blueprint at the club’s training base, Carrington.

Amorim’s era officially kicks off on November 24, when United face Ipswich Town at Portman Road. With youth, ambition, and a fearless mentality at the core of his strategy, the Portuguese tactician’s journey promises to be an exciting one.

Can Amorim revive the struggling giant and build a foundation for future triumphs? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – Manchester United’s future looks bright under his guidance.
