Arsenal legend Bacary Sagna has called on the club to make a double swoop for Paul Pogba and Viktor Gyokeres in the January transfer window.
Pogba, who is currently serving a doping ban, will be available to sign for a new club in February. Sagna believes the French midfielder would be a valuable addition to the Gunners’ squad, despite his recent off-field issues.
“I’ve always said that Paul Pogba would be a good addition for Arsenal,” Sagna told Mega Dice. “I believe he could be an asset to the club. With his creativity, having him on a short-term contract would benefit everyone.”
Sagna has also urged Arsenal to consider signing Sporting CP striker Gyokeres, who has been in impressive form this season, scoring 23 goals in 18 games. The Sweden international has a £83m release clause, and has also been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United.
“I would love Arsenal to sign Viktor Gyokeres,” Sagna said. “He’s amazing, honestly. I didn’t know much about his personality, but after watching him play… wow! I think he’s amazing.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend against Nottingham Forest, currently sitting fourth in the table.
