Hojlund Wins it for Amorim and Man United

Manchester United marked Ruben Amorim’s first match in charge at Old Trafford with a thrilling 3-2 UEFA Europa League victory over Bodo/Glimt. Rasmus Hojlund was the hero, scoring twice to turn the game on its head after the visitors had initially taken a shock 2-1 lead.

The Red Devils got off to a flying start as Alejandro Garnacho took advantage of a goalkeeping blunder to open the scoring inside 50 seconds. However, Bodo/Glimt delivered two sucker punches in quick succession, with Hakon Evjen curling home a superb equaliser before Philip Zinckernagel gave them the lead after beating Tyrell Malacia.

United responded right before half-time with a stylish goal from Hojlund, controlling a cross with one foot then volleying home with the other. The hosts came back out for the second half with renewed determination and after Mason Mount had hit the bar, Hojlund fired them in front.

Despite missing several chances to put the game out of sight, Manchester United held on for a vital 3-2 win, marking Amorim’s first victory as manager. The result sees United pick up just their second win in Europe this season and shifts them up to 12th in the league phase standings.
