Manchester United have held discussions with super agent Jorge Mendes as new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly eyes a reunion with Sporting’s highly-rated midfielder Geovany Quenda.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Mendes’ Gestifute agency is leading negotiations on behalf of Quenda’s agent, Igor Campedelli. The report claims Mendes has already acquired a 50 per cent stake in the teenager’s image rights, highlighting his belief in Quenda’s vast potential.
Despite United’s keen interest, the club have not yet submitted a formal offer, though Sporting insiders anticipate a bid next summer. Quenda, who has already made history as Sporting’s youngest-ever league scorer, surpassing a record previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo, is also being pursued by Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool, and RB Leipzig.
Mendes is reportedly set to engage with multiple clubs in the coming weeks to identify the best career path for Quenda. The teenager’s impressive rise has seen him break multiple records at Sporting, including becoming the club’s youngest player to start in a Champions League match.
With Mendes orchestrating talks and top European clubs circling, Quenda’s departure from Sporting appears increasingly likely. While his destination remains uncertain, his growing reputation and record-breaking performances suggest that he could become a major player in European football.
