Amorim Urges Man United to Build New Scouting Team

Manchester United’s new boss, Ruben Amorim, is keen to tap into the rich footballing talent of his native Portugal, urging the club to expand its scouting network in the region. Amorim believes that United’s scouting system is in dire need of an overhaul, and that the club has missed out on several Portuguese superstars in recent years.

According to reports, Amorim is convinced that Portugal is ripe for the picking, with a plethora of talented young players waiting to be discovered. He points to the success of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was plucked from Sporting Lisbon by United over two decades ago, as a prime example of the talent that can be found in the region.

However, Amorim is keenly aware that United have not had the same level of success in signing Portuguese players in recent years. The club missed out on the signing of Joao Neves to PSG in the summer, and other top Portuguese prospects, such as Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, and Rafael Leao, have ended up elsewhere in Europe.

Amorim’s desire to tap into the Portuguese market is not merely a sentimental one. Having just arrived from Liga Portugal, he has an intimate knowledge of the league and its players. He is reportedly keen to bring some of that talent to Old Trafford, with United already linked to Viktor Gyokeres and Geovany Quenda since his arrival.

While United have had some success signing players from Portugal in recent years, including Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, Amorim will be hoping to uncover the next big talent from the region. With the January transfer window looming, United fans will be watching with bated breath to see if Amorim can deliver on his promise to bring some of Portugal’s finest talent to the club.

Before United can start thinking about signings, however, they have a crucial run of fixtures to navigate. With games against Bournemouth, Wolves, and Newcastle to see out the rest of the year, Amorim will be eyeing three victories to propel his side up the table. With the Cherries and Newcastle competing for European places, however, victories are far from assured.
