Inter Miami Eye Neymar Reunion with Messi

Inter Miami’s pursuit of Brazilian superstar Neymar has not been deterred by the club’s public denials, with reports in Spain suggesting that a formal approach could be made as early as January. Neymar, currently plying his trade with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, has endured a frustrating spell in the Middle East, marred by injuries and speculation about his future.

With his contract set to expire in 2025, Neymar has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer (MLS), where he could potentially reunite with former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. The prospect of reuniting the fabled ‘MSN’ strike force, which also included Luis Suarez, has sparked excitement among football fans, despite Inter Miami’s attempts to downplay the transfer gossip.

According to Spanish publication AS, Inter Miami’s ownership team, including Jorge Mas, still consider Neymar a realistic target, despite the player’s claims of being settled in Saudi Arabia. The report suggests that Inter Miami could make their move in January, ahead of the 2025 MLS campaign, or wait until after the FIFA Club World Cup next summer.

However, Inter Miami’s pursuit of Neymar may be complicated by their existing Designated Player spots, which are currently occupied by Messi and others. The club’s reported interest in French World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann may also be put on hold, as they would need to free up a Designated Player spot to accommodate the attacker.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Inter Miami fans will be eagerly awaiting news of Neymar’s potential arrival, which could potentially propel the club to new heights in MLS.
