Italian giants Juventus have reportedly declined an offer from Manchester United to sign Marcus Rashford, instead setting their sights on the Red Devils’ team-mate Joshua Zirkzee. According to sources, Juventus were offered the chance to sign Rashford, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but the Serie A giants are not interested.
Instead, Juventus are keen to sign 23-year-old Zirkzee, who has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League since joining Manchester United in the summer. The Dutch international has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season, scoring just four times.
Juventus head coach Thiago Motta is believed to be a fan of Zirkzee, having worked with him during his time at Bologna. However, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be willing to let Zirkzee go, having sanctioned a £36.5million move for the youngster just a few months ago.
Rashford, meanwhile, has been excluded from Manchester United’s squad for the last three games, fuelling speculation about his future at the club. With Juventus no longer an option, it is unclear what the future holds for the England international, although a loan move away from Old Trafford is thought to be a possibility.
