European champions Real Madrid are reportedly keen to secure the signing of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold in the upcoming transfer window. According to Spanish reports, Los Blancos are growing increasingly confident that they can complete a deal for the England international, who is out of contract with Liverpool in the summer.
Although Alexander-Arnold is unlikely to make a January move, with the Premier League title still within Liverpool’s grasp, he can sign a pre-agreement with Real Madrid to join the club as a free agent at the start of next season. The 26-year-old’s loyalty to his boyhood club, however, may prove to be a significant obstacle for Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental in Liverpool’s success, making over 300 appearances for the club and winning numerous trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. His potential departure would undoubtedly be a significant blow to Liverpool’s chances of retaining their title.
With Liverpool manager Arne Slot refusing to comment on a potential contract renewal, the future of Alexander-Arnold, as well as teammates Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, remains uncertain. The Reds’ fans will be anxiously waiting for news on the trio’s future, knowing that their departure would not only weaken Liverpool but also strengthen their European rivals, Real Madrid.
