Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey next summer when his contract expires, according to Relevo.
The Catalan giants, despite their impressive start to the 2024-25 season under Hansi Flick, are seeking to bolster their squad without breaking the bank. Financial struggles have forced the club to explore the free agent market, and Partey has emerged as a key target.
The Ghanaian midfielder’s influence at Arsenal has waned since Declan Rice’s arrival from West Ham last summer. Partey, 31, has struggled with injuries and is believed to be seeking a departure from the Emirates.
With nine appearances and one goal this season, Partey is set to feature for Mikel Arteta’s side against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Barcelona’s financial constraints have limited their ability to pay substantial transfer fees, making free agents an attractive option. Partey’s experience and skillset could provide a valuable boost to the Blaugrana’s midfield.
