Bellingham Signs ’10-Year Deal’ with Burnley

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham and his brother Jobe were left in stitches after being tricked into signing a 10-year deal with Burnley by a young supporter. The cheeky encounter took place during Jude’s visit to Ewood Park, where he watched his brother Jobe play for Sunderland against Blackburn.

A young Burnley fan, Alfie, orchestrated the prank by presenting the two players with a makeshift ‘contract’ committing them to a 10-year tenure at the Clarets. The handwritten document humorously stated: “We, Jobe and Jude, agree to sign for Burnley for 10 years.”

Jude, currently one of the most celebrated players in European football, took the prank in good stride, posing for photos with Alfie and his family. Burnley FC Chairman Alan Pace even acknowledged the playful ‘deal’ on Twitter, welcoming Alfie to the recruitment team.

The encounter marked a lighthearted end to 2024 for Jude, who helped Real Madrid secure a 4-2 victory against Sevilla in their final match of the year. With Spanish football on a brief hiatus for the holiday season, Jude took advantage of the downtime to visit England and support his brother Jobe.

Jobe, who is making waves in the Championship with Sunderland, still has one more game to play in 2024, facing Stoke City on December 29. Meanwhile, Jude will resume action with Real Madrid in January 2025, starting with a match against Valencia.
