Premier League legend, Alan Shearer, has given his prediction for the FA Cup Super Sunday clash between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates.
Making his bold claim, Shearer believes that United can defeat Arsenal tomorrow at the Emirates if they put on the kind of spirited display that saw them leave Anfield with a point last weekend in the league. He said, “If Man Utd turn up with the same attitude and performance, I can see them going through to the next round. I just think that Arsenal are struggling in front of goal, and haven’t scored as many goals as they want. They missed one or two against Newcastle and I can see Man United going in there, and if they put in another good performance then I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they won.”
Manchester United are the current holders of the FA Cup but come into the fixture as underdogs, with Arsenal being the odds-on favorites to advance to the fourth round. At the Emirates, United have lost the last four fixtures to Arsenal, with the most recent being the 2-0 defeat to goals from Timber and Saliba.
Since defeating Manchester City at the Etihad, Manchester United fell to consecutive defeats to Tottenham, Bournemouth, Wolves, and Newcastle before displaying what many consider to be a corner-turning performance at Anfield against Liverpool.
Arsenal are firm favorites but after dropping points against Brighton and Newcastle in their last two games, will need to up their game tomorrow.
Amorim said he’s had more time on the training pitch, it’s left to be seen how they deal with Arsenal’s set pieces challenge, something they obviously failed to do last time out at the Emirates.
