West Ham Nearing £20 Million Deal for Brazilian Sensation Luis Guilherme

West Ham United are close to securing a deal worth over £20 million for 18-year-old Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme. Guilherme arrived in London on Monday and is scheduled to undergo a medical on Tuesday. This transfer from Palmeiras would mark the first signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.

Guilherme, hailed as one of Brazil’s brightest young talents, made his debut for Palmeiras at the age of 17 and has already featured in the Copa Libertadores this season. His imminent signing represents a significant addition to West Ham’s squad as they aim to support Lopetegui with major acquisitions this summer.

West Ham is planning to make up to six new signings during the transfer window, with technical director Tim Steidten leading a substantial overhaul of the first-team squad. Priority positions include a centre-forward, right-back, and at least one new centre-back. Steidten has been in Brazil negotiating several deals, and despite late interest from the Saudi Pro League, West Ham is confident of finalizing the deal for Guilherme.

In addition to targeting international talents like Guilherme, West Ham must also focus on acquiring homegrown players to comply with Premier League regulations, which limit clubs to a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players in their squads. The Hammers are therefore exploring various options within the Championship to bolster their squad with domestic talent.

Stay tuned for all the latest transfer news and rumours as West Ham continues to strengthen their team for the upcoming season.
