Galatasaray supporters get ready to welcome Victor Osimhen as they jubilate and party with excitement. The Turkish club supporters are currently assembled at the airport to welcome the 25-year-old striker, who has finally reached an agreement with Napoli and Galatasaray. He will join the Turkish team on a dry loan through June 2025.
The Super Eagles striker should have been in Turkey, but the private plane at Capodichino Airport was held up while the last few details were worked out.
According to a photo posted on intermediary George Gardi’s Instagram account, he is now thought to have left the airport and is traveling to Istanbul.
Osimhen’s salary in Turkey will be fully covered by Galatasaray as per the agreement, and his contract with Napoli will be extended through 2027 prior to the move.
Osimhen’s future was left uncertain when a planned transfer to Al Ahli fell through, leading to this transfer. Nevertheless, an agreement has now been reached, and the Nigerian forward will be joining Galatasaray to play alongside the injured Mauro Icardi.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the team has even changed their strategy to accommodate Osimhen, going to a 3-5-2 formation that looks to be a formidable offensive force in the Super Lig. Medical exams and formal contract signing are the last steps in the transfer, which should be finished soon after Osimhen lands in Istanbul.
Mauro Icardi, Dries Mertens, and Nicolò Zaniolo were among the Italian teams that George Gardi acted as a middleman for during different transfers involving Galatasaray. A photo of a plane in flight with the Galatasaray symbol and a timer was shared on his Instagram Stories. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that Gardi participated in the negotiations and assisted in arranging for Osimhen to be transferred in order to resolve a contentious situation at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, football italia posted.
