Arsenal Beat PSG 2-0 in UEFA Champions League

Arsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a convincing 2-0 Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates. Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka sealed the win, lifting Mikel Arteta’s side to seventh in the league stage.

Havertz’s opener in the 20th minute resulted from Gianluigi Donnarumma’s misjudged attempt to claim Leandro Trossard’s cross, allowing the German forward to head into an empty net. Saka doubled Arsenal’s lead with a 35th-minute free kick that beat Donnarumma at his near post.

PSG, who beat Girona in their Champions League opener, struggled to create chances despite enjoying periods of pressure in the second half. Donnarumma’s errors proved costly, and his aerial deficiencies were exposed.

Arsenal’s victory highlights their strength in depth, particularly in the absence of injured captain Martin Odegaard. Thomas Partey and Declan Rice formed a solid midfield axis, allowing the Gunners to dominate.

PSG’s decision to drop Ousmane Dembélé backfired, depriving them of their main creative spark. Riccardo Calafiori impressed for Arsenal, showcasing his defensive and attacking prowess.

With the eight-game league phase still in its early stages, Arsenal’s win provides a boost, while PSG will seek to rebound from this setback.
