Brazilian superstar Neymar has provided a positive update after limping off the field with an apparent muscle injury during Al-Hilal’s AFC Champions League victory over Esteghlal on Monday.
The 32-year-old forward, who recently returned from a year-long anterior cruciate ligament injury, pulled up sharply just 30 minutes after coming off the bench. However, Neymar has moved to alleviate fears, suggesting the setback may be a minor one.
Taking to Instagram, Neymar wrote: “Hopefully nothing too much… It’s normal that after one year [out] this happens, the doctors had already warned me, so I have to be careful and play more minutes.”
Neymar’s reassurance will come as a relief to Al-Hilal fans, who have anxiously awaited his return to full fitness. The former Paris Saint-Germain star had only made his second appearance of the season against Esteghlal.
Although Neymar will miss Al-Hilal’s next two Saudi Pro League matches due to eligibility rules, he may feature in the AFC Champions League clash against Al-Sadd on November 26 if he recovers in time.
As Neymar navigates his comeback, caution will be key to avoiding further setbacks for the former Barcelona player. With his experience and talent, Al-Hilal will be eager to have him back at full strength.
