Federico Chiesa is reportedly seeking a January exit from Liverpool, with the Italian international favouring a return to Serie A after struggling to secure regular game time at Anfield. According to sources, Chiesa has grown frustrated with his limited opportunities under manager Arne Slot and is now seeking a loan move to reignite his career.
Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in August, but has made just four appearances in all competitions, with only one start to his name. The 27-year-old has found himself down the pecking order, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz ahead of him in the Reds’ attacking ranks.
A return to Serie A, where Chiesa previously excelled with Fiorentina, is now on the cards, with Napoli, Inter Milan, and Fiorentina all reportedly interested in securing his services on loan. The move would provide Chiesa with a much-needed opportunity to regain his match fitness and form, having struggled with injuries in recent months.
Before the January transfer window opens, Chiesa’s Liverpool side will face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday, in what could potentially be the Italian’s final appearance for the Reds.
