Arsenal Set Sights on AC Milan’s Chukwueze

Arsenal’s bid for the Premier League title has suffered a significant setback with the news that star winger Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for several weeks due to a hamstring injury. According to sources in Italy, the Gunners are now exploring options to bolster their squad, with AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze emerging as a top target.

Mikel Arteta’s side has been heavily reliant on Saka’s pace and creativity, and his absence is likely to be deeply felt. The 23-year-old has featured in all but three of Arsenal’s games this season, amassing an impressive 250 appearances for the club. However, his explosive playstyle and heavy workload may have finally taken their toll.

With the January transfer window looming, Arteta is keen to strengthen his squad and maintain the pressure on Liverpool in the title race. Chukwueze, 25, has reportedly caught the Spaniard’s eye, and Arsenal may be willing to offer defender Jakub Kiwior in a swap deal to secure the Nigerian winger’s services.

The potential acquisition of Chukwueze would undoubtedly provide a significant boost to Arsenal’s attacking options. However, the club’s medical staff will be working tirelessly to ensure Saka’s swift recovery, with the winger’s importance to the team’s title aspirations impossible to overstated.

Arteta has thus far refrained from putting an exact timeframe on Saka’s return, but hamstring injuries can often keep players sidelined for six or more weeks. Arsenal face a busy schedule in the coming weeks, with fixtures against Ipswich and Brentford on the horizon.
