Arsenal Urged to Sign Osimhen in January

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has implored the Gunners to sign Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window, citing the Nigerian’s clinical finishing as the solution to Arsenal’s attacking woes.

Mikel Arteta’s side have seen their title hopes dwindle in recent weeks, with a slump in form leaving them nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool. The Gunners’ struggles in front of goal have been particularly concerning, with Kai Havertz’s four league goals leading the team’s scoring chart.

Gallas believes Osimhen, currently on loan from Napoli, would be the ideal signing to revitalise Arsenal’s attack. “If I could sign one player for Arsenal in January, it would be a world-class striker… Osimhen is the type of profile Arsenal need,” Gallas told Prime Casino.

The 25-year-old has impressed with eight goals and three assists in nine appearances for Galatasaray, drawing comparisons to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. “He reminds me a little bit of Drogba – he gives defenders a hard time, and that creates opportunities for players around him to score,” Gallas added.

However, Osimhen has stated his intention to see out his loan deal with Galatasaray until the end of the season. Arsenal fans will have to wait and see if the club will make a move for the Nigerian striker in the winter transfer window.

With Arsenal’s title aspirations hanging in the balance, the pressure is on Arteta to address his team’s attacking deficiencies.
