Man United Urged to Sign Chelsea’s Nkunku

Former Chelsea and France star Emmanuel Petit believes Manchester United should sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea to aid new coach Ruben Amorim in implementing his playing style.

Amorim has been tasked with revitalising the Red Devils after replacing Erik ten Hag as head coach. United have already been linked with several players, including Amorim’s former Sporting CP stars Geovany Quenda and Viktor Gyokeres.

However, Petit thinks Nkunku would be a sensible target for the Old Trafford club, despite his struggles with Chelsea. The French forward has started just one Premier League match for Chelsea this season and is reportedly considering his future, with United monitoring his situation.

“Ruben Amorim has a clear philosophy and knows exactly what he wants from his players,” Petit told Casino Hawks. “He has an identity and he wants intelligent players – Christopher Nkunku is one of those.”

Petit added that Nkunku’s ability to link up with strikers and wingers could have a significant impact at Old Trafford. “Looking at the dressing room at Manchester United, he could make a big difference,” he said.

Nkunku, 27, recently played the full 90 minutes as France beat Italy 3-1 in the Nations League and is likely to be involved as Chelsea meet Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday.
