Salah and PSG Open Talks Over Free Transfer

Liverpool’s hopes of retaining the services of star winger Mohamed Salah have suffered a significant blow, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly opening talks with the Egyptian over a potential free transfer next summer.

Salah’s contract situation at Anfield is increasingly dire, with the 32-year-old’s current deal set to expire in the summer of 2025. Despite his impressive form this season, which has seen him score 13 goals, Liverpool are yet to offer Salah a contract extension, leaving the door open for potential suitors.

According to French publication L’Equipe, PSG have actively engaged in talks with Salah, who is reportedly keen on a move to the French capital. The Ligue 1 champions are desperate to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid in the summer, and Salah is seen as the ideal candidate to replace the French superstar.

PSG’s interest in Salah is not new, with the club having previously attempted to sign the winger in the past. However, with Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool increasingly uncertain, PSG may see next summer as their best chance to secure the Egyptian’s signature.

If Liverpool fail to extend Salah’s contract before the start of the new year, the winger will be free to hold pre-contract talks with another club, paving the way for a potential summer move.
