Barcelona manager Hansi Flick held an emergency one-hour meeting with his team following their surprise 2-1 defeat to Las Palmas in La Liga. The loss marked the Catalan giants’ second defeat in their last three matches, having also fallen to Real Sociedad and drawn with Celta Vigo.
According to reports, Flick analysed the performance against Las Palmas with his team and subsequently delayed training by an hour. The meeting was seen as a crisis talk, with Flick urging his squad to reflect on their errors and ensure they are not repeated.
Striker Robert Lewandowski was singled out for a one-to-one conversation on the training pitch. The Poland international has failed to score in Barcelona’s last two matches, although he has been in impressive form this season, netting 15 La Liga goals in 15 games.
Despite the setback, Barcelona remain top of La Liga, albeit by a single point from Real Madrid, who have a game in hand. Flick’s men face a quick turnaround, with matches against Mallorca and Real Betis looming in the coming days.
