Liverpool’s Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has expressed his optimism about the Reds’ chances of securing another Premier League title, admitting that this season “feels different”. Salah’s comments came after Liverpool’s impressive 3-1 comeback victory over Leicester City at Anfield on Thursday, a win that extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
The 32-year-old winger, who was on the scoresheet against Leicester, acknowledged that Liverpool must remain “humble” if they are to achieve their goal of winning the league. Speaking to Amazon Prime, Salah said: “The most important thing is the team winning – hopefully we win the Premier League. It is great, but we focus on each game and hopefully we carry on like that. [This year] it feels different, but the most important thing is we need to stay humble. This one is very special, hopefully we win the Premier League and for this club, it is something I dream of.”
Salah’s dream of securing another Premier League title with Liverpool is very much alive, with the Reds now seven points clear of second-placed Chelsea and boasting a game in hand. As the Egyptian enters the final year of his contract, he will be determined to finish his Anfield stay on a high note, and another trophy would be the perfect way to do so.
Liverpool will look to extend their lead at the top of the table when they visit West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.
