Ten Hag Questions Slot’s Hype as Liverpool Manager

Erik ten Hag has subtly criticized incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot, suggesting that the former Feyenoord boss may be overhyped. Slot is set to take charge at Liverpool on June 1, succeeding Jurgen Klopp after the German’s nine-year tenure.

Despite Slot’s successful spell at Feyenoord, where he secured the club’s first Eredivisie title since 2017 and won the Dutch Cup, Ten Hag seems unimpressed. He remarked that PSV Eindhoven, this season’s Dutch champions, were superior to Feyenoord in all aspects.

Ten Hag’s comments came as he awaits a decision on his future at Manchester United. He praised Klopp for leaving a strong foundation at Liverpool, suggesting that Slot is stepping into a better situation than he did when he took over at United.

While Ten Hag’s future at United remains uncertain, he emphasized his focus on developing his team and preparing for the next season, describing his tenure at United as a project that has seen improvement but is still a work in progress.
