It was goals galore on Night 2 of Matchday 5 in the UCL. Yesterday evening delivered a spectacular display of attacking football, resulting in a total of 42 goals across the nine fixtures. The night was characterized by stunning individual masterclasses, late drama, and significant upsets that will heavily impact the league standings.

Pafos 2 – 2 Monaco

The Cypriot side earned a resilient draw in an exciting match, with four goals shared. Monaco twice took the lead through Takumi Minamino in the 5th minute and Folarin Balogun in the 26th, but Pafos fought back. David Luiz scored the home side’s first goal. The dramatic equalizer came late in the game, a Mohammed Salisu own goal (88′ O.G.), securing a crucial point.

Eintracht Frankfurt 0 – 3 Atalanta BC

Atalanta claimed a dominant win on the road , with all three goals coming in a quick five-minute burst in the second half. After a goalless first hour, Ademola Lookman (60′), Éderson (62′), and Charles De Ketelaere (65′) all scored to seal the victory for Atalanta.

Liverpool F.C. 1 – 4 PSV

This fixture delivered one of the shock results of the night, as PSV secured a decisive away victory at Anfield. Dominik Szoboszlai (16′) scored the sole goal for Liverpool. However, PSV trounced Liverpool with goals from Ivan Perišić (6′), Guus Til (56′), and a brace from Couhaib Driouech (73′, 90+1′).

Olympiacos Piraeus 3 – 4 Real Madrid

In a thrilling seven-goal contest, Kylian Mbappé delivered a stunning individual performance, scoring four goals to propel Real Madrid to a tight victory. Olympiacos fought valiantly, scoring through Chiquinho (8′), Mehdi Taremi (52′), and Ayoub El Kaabi (81′), but Mbappé’s masterful display proved the difference.

Paris Saint-Germain F.C. 5 – 3 Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

This eight-goal thriller was defined by the relentless attacking prowess of the hosts. Tottenham twice took the lead through Richarlison (35′) and Kolo Muani (50′), but PSG always hit back. Julian Alvarez’s opener (9′) gave the hosts the lead , but Piotr Zieliński (54′) equalized for Inter. The final moments brought high drama when José María Giménez scored the match-winning goal with a header from an Antoine Griezmann corner in the 93rd minute.

Matchday 5, Night 2 has decisively set the stage for a tense and highly consequential Matchday 6. The most notable outcomes, PSV’s dominating upset at Anfield, Mbappé’s unstoppable individual brilliance, and Arsenal’s definitive statement win over Bayern, have clarified which teams are peaking and which are vulnerable.
