Arsenal Sets English Premier League Record

Arsenal achieved a remarkable feat on Saturday, becoming the first English top-flight side to score five or more goals in six different away games in all competitions within a single calendar year. The Gunners’ 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park marked their latest triumph, with Gabriel Jesus netting a brace and Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice scoring a goal each.

The victory was a testament to Arsenal’s attacking prowess, which has seen them register impressive away wins throughout the year. In February, they beat West Ham and Burnley in consecutive Premier League away matches by margins of 6-0 and 5-0, respectively. A 5-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane followed on March 4.

This season, Arsenal have continued their impressive form, with a 5-1 win over Sporting CP in Lisbon in the Champions League and 5-2 and 5-1 victories over West Ham and Palace in the Premier League.

However, the win came at a cost, as star winger Bukayo Saka suffered an apparent hamstring injury in the 23rd minute and was substituted. The 22-year-old was later spotted leaving Selhurst Park on crutches, dealing a major blow to Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures.

With a hectic schedule ahead, including matches against Ipswich Town, Brentford, and Brighton between December 27 and January 4, Arsenal will be hoping that Saka’s injury is not too severe. As the Gunners continue to make history, their ability to cope with the loss of key players will be put to the test.
