Harry Kane Defends Gareth Southgate Amid Criticism

Gareth Southgate remains “absolutely” the right man to lead England, according to captain Harry Kane. Despite recent criticism following Englandโ€™s disappointing draw with Denmark, Kane praised Southgate’s transformative impact on the team over the past eight years.

Kane’s High Praise

โ€œI canโ€™t speak highly enough of Gareth and what he has done for this team and the nation,โ€ said Kane. โ€œThe difference between where we were and where we are now as a national team is immense. He ensures every detail is covered and gives us the freedom to be ourselves, both on and off the pitch.โ€

Southgate’s Record and Determination

Kane acknowledged the difficulties of being England’s manager but stood firm in his belief in Southgate. โ€œThere will always be critics, but his record speaks for itself. Heโ€™s achieved great success with us and is determined to take the next step and win. We all are.โ€

Kane urged fans to support Southgate, stating, โ€œHeโ€™ll do whatโ€™s best for the nation and the team. All I will say is get behind him and support him as the players do.โ€

Kaneโ€™s New Club Connection

Meanwhile, Kane has already been in touch with his new club boss, Vincent Kompany, who took over at Bayern Munich after leaving Burnley. โ€œHe phoned me to introduce himself and ask about last season. It was a short conversation, but once Iโ€™m back at Bayern, Iโ€™m looking forward to getting to know his vision for the team.โ€

Kane expressed his eagerness to learn from Kompany, saying, โ€œIโ€™m always learning from different managers and Iโ€™m sure I will from him as well.โ€
